Floods in northwest Iowa and surrounding areas (like southern Minnesota and eastern South Dakota) have resulted in the loss of countless homes and businesses in the past few days. Particularly hard hit has been the city of Spencer, Iowa, much of which is currently underwater. Spencer hosted over 1,000 of us at our family reunion in 2016. Many members of our extended family live in this area and have been affected.
Here are a couple of ways to help:
* Send a monetary donation to the Spencer Chamber Foundation, as they are on the ground and can deliver aid directly: click this link to donate
* If you live in the region, you can donate physical goods at the main entrance of the PACHS Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Donate things like air mattresses, blankets, bedding, hygiene items, clothing, diapers, formula, bottles, non-perishable/non-cooking foods.
