Brett was a son of Doyle Schmidt, grandson of Arthur Schmidt, great grandson of John Ernest Charles Schmidt, 2xgreat grandson of Konrad Schmidt, 3xgreat grandson of Andreas Schmidt, 4xgreat grandson of Friedrich Schmidt, 5xgreat grandson of Johannes Schmidt, 6xgreat grandson of Hermann Schmidt, 7xgreat grandson of Martin Schmidt, and 8xgreat grandson of Hans Schmidt.
